Just a few weeks ago, Hong Kong Disneyland announced plans for three new lands: Mystic Point, Toy Story Land, and Grizzly Trail. However in that time, lots has happened.
Shortly after the announcement, Hong Kong stalled all further movements untila concil were to vote on the movement. Fortunately for the park, it was a quick and easy meeting and the legislative concil quickly passed the expansion plans for the park.
Then just a few days ago, new concept images were leaked to the public.
A local news paper of Hong Kong reported that the first of the three new lands, either Grizzly Trail or Mystic Point will open in 2011 or 2012. If Mystic Point were to open first, that would mean that it would have a direct entrance from Adventureland/Fantasyland, which has not been conveyed in the current concept art.
ScreamScape reported that Hong Kong Disneyland is now testing a Magic Pass Fast Pass option that is an upcharge and will allow guest to recieve more Fast Passes with a much shorter waiting period for there Fast Pass to go into use. If proven successfuly, this system will be blended in at all the Disney resorts around the world.
Finally, another local news source out of Hong Kong reported that the park will be recieving a new hotel or hotel expansion, along with a new shopping district. The new hotel will fill in the empty land that is left between the current two hotels. If a new hotel would not be built an expansion of the other two hotels would take over this land, providing an additional 1,000 rooms for park guest. The shopping distric will also be added and completed by 2015 to handle an increase of traffic due to the new HK-Zhuhai-Macau Mega Bridge.
Alot has happened in just a few short weeks at Hong Kong Disneyland and I expect to see alot more coming as well. I will be sure to keep you updated, so leave your park thoughts and comments.
