In 2009 we saw a major decline in the amount of coasters opening across.  The globe, very few opened this year and due to the economy, you can expect a similar occurance for next year.  However this isn’t stopping the parks as they are just now getting more creative with their additions.  Cedar Point added the Star Light Expierence which provides great entertainment for a relatively low costs for the park, Six Flags is now popularizing the Glow in the Park Parade, and shows are also being added as an alternate way to bring guests in without adding a major, costly coaster.  But let’s take a look at what we have for the parks so far:

Carowinds – B&M Hyper coaster

King’s Dominion – Intamin Giga Coaster

Holiday World – Wildebeest

Dollywood – Adventure Mountain

Kennywood – New Premier LSM Coaster

Universal’s Island’s of Adventure – The Wizarding World’s of Harry Potter

Disney’s California Adventure – World of Color, Silly Symphony Swings, Goofy’s Flight School

Disneyland – ??? (Possibly Star Tours 2.0, World of Wonder Parade, and New Fireworks Show)

Six Flags Magic Mountain – New Coaster

Sea World San Diego – Blue Horizons

Cedar Point – ???

Busch Gardens Africa – ??? (Possibly new Seasame Street themed land)

Freestyle Music Park – ???

Silver Dollar City – ??? (Possibly Tom Sawyer attraction)

Alton Towers – New coaster

Check back for more as I update the list.

I also think that their aren’t many new coasters coming because they have not been announced yet. Because a lot of things get announce in September and October.

Flying Turns is set to open in the year 2243.
But Knoebels is opening Black Diamond next year I think, and I think I’ve heard that SFMM may not get that new coaster next year that Shapiro promised…but we might
