La Ronde, a Six Flags owned park in Canada, has a fairly nice collection of coasters.  Their coaster collection includes everything from a B&M Hyper, to a Batman clone, as well as a Vekoma Boomerang.  However there is one unwelcomed addition that appears to be entering the park this year.  From Six Flags Astroworld which closed in 2006, what has recently arrived on La Ronde property is Serial Thriller.

For anyone who has been on an SLC, they are quite hard to describe besides the fact that, they suck.  Unless the park adds those nifty new Vekoma restraints which drastically reduce the amount of head injury, I think this is just a ride to get people into the park.  Honestly, it is beyond me why anyone would take an SLC over a nice flat ride.  SLC’s are painful as all get up, and, and……well, they are very painful and that is why they are so bad.

Within the past few days, behind the Carousel of La Ronde is newly painted, Vekoma track.  At the same time, Serial Thriller’s parts form its resting place Six Flags Great Escape.  So I think this mystery does not require Scooby Doo and gang.  It is probably safe to say that La Ronde’s new addition for 2010 will be a Vekoma SLC.  Sorry for all of you who go to the park, and feel obligated to ride the new coaster.
