Introduced in 2008, Pixar Play Parade is a fun filled, creative show that highlights Disney-Pixar characters. Characters include Monsters Inc, Ratatouille, and Toy Story. The overall theme for the parade is a wacky playground taken over by the pixar characters. That means rats on bungee cords, bugs on giant flower sings, and a marching band of monsters.
This is one my favorite parades. It is a great way to cool off during the summer season since the parade features water, and lots of it. Not only that but the sheer creativity that went into the parade is astonishing. I really like the colors and costumes this parade has to offer. Below is my video capturing the essence of the parade. Introduced this past summer, Knott’s illuminates Camp Snoopy at night with Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular. A sight and sound extravaganza. Lights drape from the trees and other objects in the area with 4 distinct areas. The neatest aspect of the entire experience was the glasses that were sold to ‘enhance’ the experience. When you put these on, all the individual LED’s showed up as either a star, snowflake, or heart. Definitely worth the dollar I paid for them. Here is a tour of the electric event.
In Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular, the end closest to the Mexican section of the park is dedicated to Sally and her 60′s Flower Power style!
Ring Ring Ring! Sally, it’s your big brother Charlie Brown.
Following the Sally Flower Power section is an area featuring Linus and Woodstock as astronauts in space. The area even comes complete with two green aliens and an LED animatronic space ship!
Schroeder with his famous piano playing skills plays away in his very own section of Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular. His area is located closest to Sierra Sidewinder and features various musical notes. While I feel the lighting is the least impressive in this section, I do find the main figurine of Schroeder with the rainbow of LED musical notes to be one of the most impressive parts of the entire experience.
The section of Camp Snoopy closest to the entrance is centered around Lucy. Its Lucywood, where Lucy Van Pelt is the star in the center of the universe. This area features cameras with dramatic flashing effects, and the entire Peanuts gang dressed up or a red carpet premiere.
Sierra Sidewinder in the glow of the surrounding lights.
And now here is a grand tour of Snoopy’s Starlight Spectacular by video!
Nothing beats the feeling of driving up to an amusement park and seeing all the rides you’ve been looking forward to riding from the parking lot. Well, things are a bit different for Universal, but the feeling is just as great – if not better. Walking down Universal’s CityWalk, you can see the green curls of the Incredible Hulk Coaster,...
While going through some old family stuff, I found these 3 neat Disneyland magazines! These classic Disney magazines feature all sorts of tales and stories from popular Disney characters! I believe these Magazines are from the 60′s and they were priced at just 35 cents for the time. Check out this cartoon book style magazine designed for young Disney fans:
On my visit to Knott’s Berry Farm about two weeks ago, I noticed that the supports were in the middle of being repainted. It was early, but the bottoms of the supports had received a new coat of the same light blue/turquoise color. I did not notice the track being repainted however. Here are some pictures:
