Tokyo DisneySea continues to offer world class attractions since its grand opening in September in 2001.  And as more news continues to come in, the future looks promosing for this spectacular theme park.  With some very likely rumors, as well as a few announcements, take a look to see what the park has in store for 2012.

Toy Story Mania! is coming to Tokyo DisneySea in 2012

First to join the line up in 2012 will be the all new Toy Story Midway Mania attraction in the American Waterfront section of the park.  Since the Tokyo Disney Resort owners want to inject more characters into the parks, Toy Story Midway Mania seems like a full proof decision.  It is fun for the entire family, uses brand new technology, and will fit nicely into the areas theme.

Toy Story Mania will be located between the Broadway Music Theater (right) and the Tower of Terror (left) in what is currently an employee parking lot.

Concept art released for the new ride.  The Coney Island style architecture is an indication that the attraction will get its own subland to provide for its unique concept.  It appears that lots of photo opportunities will be available in the attraction area, which is a great idea since the Japanese do love taking pictures.  All and all, Toy Story Mania will add to Tokyo DisneySea’s collection of family rides and is sure to be a hit among guests when it opens in 2012.

Fantasmic! will join the park's line up in 2012

LaughingPlace.com also has gotten word that Fantasmic! will be replacing the park’s current nighttime spectacular BraviSEAmo.  Several other sources have confirmed this news.  Originally it was planned that World of Color the new show going to Disney’s California Adventure would be going to the park as its new nighttime show in 2011.  However, it appears that the parks designers have opted out due to the massive construction it would require to build the show.   This is no surprise as the Firegod that rises out of the water for the current show, BraviSEAmo, is in a pit that was actually designed for the Fantasmic Dragon at Disneyland.

Above, you can see where the daily Day Time Spectacular, Legend of Mythica takes place. This is also where the nighttime shows are as well meaning this will be the future location of Fantasmic!

Rumor is that the show will be a modified version of Disneyland’s current showing as appose to the Walt Disney World version (yes they are different.)  However it will be interesting because where the Walt Disney World’s version fails, in my opininon is the distance from the action.  There set up is far larger then Disneyland’s, which creates a very intimade feel and puts you in the action.  DisneySea’s lagoon center point is certainly far from guests along the lake.  Also, DisneySea does not have neither the River Boat or Pirate boat available for them to use for the show.  And finally, the biggest difference is that the upcoming Tokyo Cousin will have to be designed for 360 viewing.

Well, the future looks bright for Tokyo DisneySea with all of these additions and even more!  In 2011, the park will be celebrating it’s 10th anniversary.  Anyone who knows about Tokyo Disney Parks, knows that they celebrate their anniversaries in a big way so it will be interesting to see what comes then!  What do you think of all of this?  Love the new additons?  Hate the new additions?  Leave your park thoughts with a comment.  Thanks for reading!

This is one of Six Flag’s 2 interactive dark rides. The other at Fiesta Texas, also themed to Scooby-Doo and the game.

You first wait through a very well swamp-like queue. Scary trees, shrubs, mist, all make you very excited. The station starts outside, but then goes into a building that is also very well blocked off. The whole ride takes place in a mansion like building, that is haunted. What is your goal? To collect all the Scooby Snacks you can.

You board the ride on a boat, and have laser-guns to shoot targets. All of which are interactive and have some type of domino effect after shooting. Boxes of Scooby Snacks are hidden all over the layout of the ride, some of which are right next to monsters. This is a great family ride that seats 4, and is definitely a good way to have fun with your family. Trying to shoot all the targets with lots of sound effects to be the champion!

Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore

Recently, the upcoming Univesral Studios Singapore park, announced 2 new areas.  Both based on hit Dreamworks Animation movies, both areas are sure to be a hit with the young and the young at heart.  Providing incredible theming, unique attractions, and high quality atmosphere, this park is shaping up to be the sleeper hit of 2010.  Lets take a look at what the park recently announced.

A conceptual overview of the two upcoming lands.

Above, you can see an artist’s rendering of the two new lands.  On the right is Far Far Away.  Inspirired by the now, famous, Shrek series, Far Far Away takes you into the city of Fiona’s Royal Palace and offers a handful of different attractions.  On the left is Madagascar.  In the rich, colorful vegetation of Africa, guests will get to join their 4 favorite lovable characters (Alex, the lion; Marty, the zebra; Melman, the giraffe; Gloria, the hippo) in great adventures inspired by the original movie Madagascar.

Madagascar features two rides, one shop, and several other suprises yet to be announced.

Here, we can zoom in and see the two main attractions of the Madagascar area.  The star ride of Madagascar will be Madagascar: A Crate Adventure.  In this slow moving boat dark ride, riders will make join in the Journey based on the 2005 plot.  Park officials promise ground breaking technologies to be included in this ride with state of the art animatronics as well!  With a fiery ending, Madagascar: A Crate Adventure is sure to be a ride to look out for.

King Juelien's Beach Party-Go Round is a wildly themed carousel like no other.

Supporting the area will be King Juelien’s Beach Party-Go Round.  Do not let the title decieve you as this is not your average attraction.  Recreating the scene from the 2005 movie where King Juelien and his animal friends celebrate the arrival of their newly founded New York buddies.  With wild and crazy music, it seems like this will be a family hit.

Far Far Away is a terrific concept that has finally come to reality!

Far Far Away is a terrific concept that has finally come to reality!

In the Shrek movies, Princess Fiona’s family lives in the vast Kingdom of Far Far Away, a nod to present day Hollywood.  Having more then four rides, and over ten shops and restaurants be on the look out for this upcoming area.  The center piece of the original area is Far Far Away Castle which will hold the ever so popular Shrek 4D attraction, direct from the American parks.  On Magical Potion Spin, park goers will get to board the giant pots that the Fairy God Mother’s factory operates on in this minature ferris wheel.

What attraction that has me really excited is Donkey Live.  Similar to Turtle Talk with Crush at both Disney’s California Adventure and EPCOT, in a small, intimate theater, the audience can sing, play, and even talk with Shrek’s lovable side kick, Donkey.  It will be interesting to see how this comes out from a non Disney company.

Enchanted Airways will be a junior coaster that provides thrills for the little ones.

Enchanted Airways will be a junior coaster that provides thrills for the little ones.

Something that every park needs is a Junior coaster and Universal Studios Singapore gets that idea.  Echanted Airways will be a family friendly, gentle coaster ride along the back of Donkey’s beloved dragon.  A flight over Far Far Away and beyond will make this roller coaster very popular with the smaller audience.

So what do I think of all of this?  I think that Universal Studios Singapore is shaping out to be amazing.  It is more like Islands of Adventure then it is any of the other Universal Studios parks.  The theming looks incredible and the atmosphere will be very high class.  So what do you think of these new additions?  Leave your comments and park thoughts.
