Cedar Point’s Facebook page has just announced their new 2011 attraction, Windseeker! It will be located on the beach right next to Wicked Twister, the park’s Intamin Impulse coaster. It will be an exact clone of its counterparts in Knott’s Berry Farm and Canada’s Wonderland. For more information on these rides, you can read Ethan’s post located directly below this one.

The same ride will also be flying into Kings Island in Mason, Ohio for the 2011 season. It will be located in the Coney Mall section of the park.

Shoot the Rapids in video

Posted in News | by Ethan

Cedar Point’s next generation Intamin Log Flume, Shoot the Rapids, finally opened to the public last weekend and the park already has several videos up to show off their new ride:

The first shows what some park guests thought of their ride on Shoot the Rapids:

… and of course, as we can always expect from Cedar Point, a beautiful HD POV:

Without seeing the ride in person, I can easily say that this is Cedar Point’s best attempt at themeing yet, the ride almost looks like it could fit in a park like Dollywood or Silver Dollar City.

So, what do you think of Shoot the Rapids? Did it meet your expectations? Leave your comments and Park Thoughts below!

Cedar Point has set up several Web Cams over the year and one of them looms high above the rest of the park.  When the fog rolled in one morning, it set a beautiful picture of Cedar Point.  Covering the lower portion of the park, it makes the park seems like it is literally jumping out of the clouds.  It almost looks like roller coaster heaven.

Mantis, Tower of Power, Wicked Twister, and a few other coasters can be seen jumping from the clouds.  What a spectacular sight.  The park’s Ohio location is one of the best for any theme park.  Cedar Point is nestled on a strip of land extending out from the coastline into one of the Great Lakes.  It provides for spectacular views on some of taller attractions and I can only imagine how it would feel to ride Millenium Force or Top Thrill Dragster in this fog.
