Well actually, the Son of Beast is now under the weather after an alleged heading injuring on a woman following her ride in late May. Unfortunately, the woman did not report her injury until June 16th, and therefore the park did a voluntary shut down to ensure the safety of future riders and further inspections. No law suite has been filed at the moment and the park is doing an investigation to find the cause of the injury.
Son of Beast has faced many changes and down times in the recent years. Originally, when it opened in 2000, the ride was the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster in the world at over 200 ft. However, since then the loop was removed (2006) for safety purposes after a long and lenthy rehab. The ride still reamains the biggest and fastest wooden coaster in the world but for not being a Pre Fabricated wooden coaster, this monster of a wooden coaster sure looks awfully rough.
