Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is one of the last remaining sea side amusement parks on the west coast. However, they do continue the legacy of these beach side boardwalks by constantly adding new attractions and shows every few years. Recently the park opened Sea Swings, a Wave Swinger with artwork that pays tribute to the park’s history. Next year the park plans to redesign a classic by taking adding a new Haunted Castle dark ride attraction.

Currently the Haunted Castle exists but is a version of the Sally Corp.’s Ghost Blasters dark rides. Soon however, the park will close down this attraction to gut the building and rebuild a new one for the 2010 season. The new Haunted Castle will feature cars that can seat 4 adults, 2 rows of 2, and will rotate on a base. Cars will travel through a much scarier setting with different effects, gags, and other hidden surprises through out the ride.

Along with the new castle building will be two new stalls. One is a boardwalk game building and the other is a Ice Cream shop. On the back of this single building will be a beautiful classic facade that will blend in with that side of the park.

You can check out a video that the park has uploaded to YouTube that I have embed below, or click here.
