The Merlin Entertainment Group will open their newest LEGOLAND property in Winter Haven, Florida on October 15, 2011. The new kid-friendly theme park will feature 50 mild rides geared towards kids ages 2-12. The new park takes over the former Cypress Gardens locations and will build on the existing attractions. Highlights include a Coastersaurus wooden coaster, a pirates-themed live action stunt show, a suspsended family coaster called Flight School, and the newly constructed LEGO TECHNIC Test Track.
The announcement allows families to begin planning their vacation to the sure-to-be-successful destination. In addition the park launched a new online vacation reservation program available on the park’s website along with 13 prefered hotels now sponsoring the park in the “Bed & Brick” program.
