Carowinds surprised fans today by releasing a full list of rides names for the Nickelodeon Central retheme to Planet Snoopy, becoming the first of the five Paramount/Cedar Fair Park’s to do so.  Here’s the rundown of all of the renames announced:

  • Boot’s Balloon Race > Flying Ace Balloon Race

New Show:

SnoopyRocksweb

  • Snoopy Rocks! On Ice, replacing “Endless Summer on Ice” in the Carowinds Theater

The only 2 rides still left to be announced are the new theme/name for Scooby Doo’s Haunted Mansion and the new Action Theater movie to replace Spongebob Squarepants 3D

Overall the names are pretty good, some really stand out as being unique and very fitting, like “Lucy’s Crabbie Cabbie” and “Joe Cool’s Driving School”, although I’m not to sure if I’m a big fan of using “Woodstock” on 3 rides, seems like it would get confusing to the general public, especially young children.

I’m sure the other four park’s can expect to see similar names. I know I’m definitely looking forward to their announcements.

What do you think of these names? Leave your comments and Park Thoughts!

Updated 11/12/09: Name for Dora The Explorer’s Azul Adventure changed to “Snoopy’s Junction” and name for Flying Dutchman’s Revenge now listed as “TBD.”
