Well, now it looks like everyone has a good idea of how The Wizarding World of Harry Potter would look like if you were to take a broom stick and fly over it. The great folks at OrlandoUnited.com recently, got pictures of a helicopter tour over Universal’s Islands of Adventures in Orlando, Florida. In the process, he got some amazing shots from high above the new area that reveal quite a bit of the details, buildings, and the overall magnitude of the project.
This is the first time we have seen a real image of the actual layout of the entire area. It reveals how all the shops will be placed relative to each other, as well as just how huge the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’s show building will be. It looks like it will be the biggest dark ride show building ever. Can’t wait to see what is on the inside.
The detail is outstanding. And if/when Dueling Dra err…. Dragon Challeng is repainted and the queue is slightly modified, I feel the area will be very cohesive as a unit. The snow is something else I was not expecting to be pulled off so well. So good job Universal Studios Resort Orlando! Looks like you have established a terrific themed area.
My only fear is the transition into the area, the adventure/arabic styled architecture to a Hogwarts environment will be very jarring. However it is not complete, and I still do not know what it will look like when it is complete. So we will all just have to wait and see when it opens in time for Summer!
So make sure to check out Orlando United to see the rest of these incredible pictures. Leave a comment with your park thought below!
After lots of effort, today marked the closing and final day of the transfer from Busch Entertainment formerly run by InBev, to the new owners, Blackstone. The company also debuted a new name and official logo. What you are looking at above is the logo for the new theme park chain, Sea World Parks & Entertainment, a fitting umbrella name for the companies numerous park destinations. While the name is changing, according to this post on the company’s blog, the way they run the parks will not. The 26 million visitors of the theme parks will notice little change besides the loss of the Busch related items.
For those wondering about the Busch Gardens franchise and if the name will remain the same, according to an article by the Orlando Sentinel, the Blackstone group has reached an agreement with InBev, the new owners of Aschnuer Busch and have been allowed to retain the Busch Gardens name for both parks in Tampa, Florida and Williamsburg, Virginia. The classic movie has been beautifully translated into a living reality at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida. Join ET and his friends as you take a flying bicycle ride into the worlds beyond on this one of a kind dark ride. Filled with some great effects, this action packed adventure is still very popular with guests and with good reason.
When it opened in 1990, it was one of a kind, and today it still is. Riders board bicycles and pull down lap bars creating a safe but thematically correct vehicle. From here they begin their bike ride through the story of E.T. Guests pass everything from oncoming trucks, FBI Officials and more.
Luckily, ET helps you go soaring into the night sky. This moment is just as magical as the movie itself. The sensation of riding your own bicycle with a famous alien and flying all at the same time is a miraculous effect that creates millions of memories each and every year.
Sadly, ET Adventure was removed from Universal Studios Hollywood in 2003, and recently closed at Universal Studios Japan this past May. At Hollywood it was replaced by Revenge of the Mummy but many say that this classic deserves to still maintain that spot. Have you been fortunate enough to ride this Daily Dark Ride?
